SCHOOL PROGRAMS

Explore the natural world with your students at the Nature Center and other locations in the National Forest with our SEEd-aligned programs!

Looking for an affordable, engaging, and all-local approach to science for your students?

Stokes programs for grades K-6 are aligned to SEEd standards as well as ELA, Mathematics, Social Studies, and PE standards. Also, all 4th grade classes can receive one free program per school year!

Our programs focus on our local environment and give students the opportunity to acquire new skills and knowledge that will help them continue their learning. We recognize research continues to show that time spent in nature contributes to positive physical and mental health outcomes. Our nature-based, student-centered programs provide students opportunities to develop Social Emotional Learning (SEL) skills in all five CASEL core competencies.

We work hand-in-hand with your school to develop the programming you need and provide experiences only possible through Cache Valley’s oldest and most trusted Nature Center.

See details about Homeschool Program Offerings here.

This project was made possible by a grant from the National Park Trust and USDA Forest Service.

Pricing and Group Size

Every 4th grade class may choose one of two available programs for free each school year! The second program is available at regular price.

Program cost is $6 per student for regular programs and $9 per student for snowshoeing programs. Transportation cost is additional, see below for scholarship info.

Looking at applying for a UCORE grant to cover the cost of our program? Let us know first and we can work with you to help meet your needs! Email schools@logannature.org

Maximum class size is 35 students.

We can only accommodate one class at a time.

Groups with fewer than 16 students will be charged a flat rate program fee of $96.

Custom programming available upon request at the cost of $12 per student, minimum of 20 students.

Traveling Programs - We Come to You!

Our new traveling programs mean that we come to you, providing nature education in your very own classroom. Click the “Traveling Program” description button next to the corresponding grade level to see more details (Kindergarten now available).

Traveling program cost is $75 per class, with travel up to 20 miles included. Schools outside of a 20 mile radius will be charged an additional 62.5 cents per mile.

Transportation Scholarships:

Great news for Title I schools! We're covering 100% of your transportation costs, removing a barrier to education. For all schools, if you have transportation concerns or want to explore scholarship options, please contact us at schools@logannature.org.

5th Grade Classroom Curriculum on the Great Salt Lake:

Great Salt Lake Collaborative and Stokes Nature Center have created a collection of resources on the Great Salt Lake to aid Utah classroom teachers in teaching 5th grade students about the Great Salt Lake who may not be able to travel to the lake itself.

Resources include curriculum guides, presentations to use in class, activities, worksheets, readings, and more - all created to address UT SEEd and other core standards.

Available as a Curated Collection on UEN’s eMedia website. Approved and vetted by USBE! Click below to access:

Stokes Nature Center has fun, hands-on experiments and instructors do a great job of teaching the children on a level that they can understand... My goal is to have them present in my classroom every year.

We had a great time, and I loved how we stopped on the trail to discuss things around us. That was cool!
